Catnip meets most peoples requirements for an herb to smoke: You'll feel something. It's psychoactive in humans, not just cats! It's also one of my personal favorites. It's great for anxiety and stress. It's also useful to kill cravings for other things, as it's in the mint family. It can aid minor pains like body aches or headaches.
You can even share some of the dry herb with a cat you know and then have a fun time together. Do not let kitties inhale smoke it is bad for them! This herb makes it so you can vibe across species, and I think that's magical.
Catnip is simmilar to cannabis in a lot of ways. It's milder, like a soft warm blanket around my shoulders. It doesn't have the same risk of increasing anxiety and paranoia as weed. When i smoke it regularly I forget they're even problems I have. If I smoke catnip a lot, I have noticed cravings and withdrawl symptoms. I used to get shaky when I tried to quit using it. It's a LOT cheaper than weed, or completly free (and a lot stronger) if you can forage it. It doesn't cause crazy munchies though it can makes people a bit hungrier. I don't intentionally use it for my chronic pain but I have noticed it reduces my body aches when I smoke it.
Cat-grade isnt Smoking-Grade
Catnip made for cats may contain toxins that are unsafe for other creatures(like you). So if you're using non-human grade herbs, be aware that they may contain chemicals that aren't the best for you. I have been using cat-grade nip for years and I haven't had an issue. This doesn't mean it's safe, I could have unknown damage or illnesses from it. I'm only saying I, personally, have yet to suffer any consequences .
This is a mildly sedating herb. It's typically added to tobacco blends rather than herbal ones. It makes hits less harsh and more flavorful when added to tobacco blends. It also makes the bowl more dense, and easier to smoke.
Adding dandelion will help prevent munchies if in a cannabis blend. I do not reccomend adding dandelion to tobacco blends as doubling up on appetite suppressants can have negative effects. If you're in need of a new diet aid, maybe it would work, but be safe. If you're not getting a fast enough burn on whatever you're smoking, dandelion may be for you. Dandelion burns fast!
I sometimes use hibiscus for my asthma, it helps almost as well as conventional inhalers. Though I don't reccomend replacing your medicines with a smoking additive. I like to smoke it in the summer as it helps me stay cool. It can also be used with cannabis to encance the pain relief properties of CBD. Its a aphrodesiac, so maybe keep it in personal blends rather than shared ones. It will reduce coughing, when I mix hibiscus in i don't cough after smoking.
Lavender is one of my old favorites. It's a natural sedative, after smoking i feel peaceful and restful. Its nice to pair with cannabis as it reduces lung inflamation, lessens anxiety, and helps increase the pain relief. I like to smoke it before bed as it helps my insomnia. It helps my chronic pain a little bit, it helps minor pains a lot.
Ever smoked something menthol? That was mint! It'll reduce the urge to smoke, mint is a craving killer. It also helps in quitting other substances. The menthol in mint usually clears my sinuses and airways. It also has a very mild calminig effect. Most mints are the same other than catnip.
Rose is mainly a flavoring agent. It's very sweet. This means the smoke will be sweeter, and easier to inhale. It will also help prevent you from getting a sore throat when smoking. It's mildly calming as well. I don't know how but adding rose petals to a mix will increase cloud size, so don't add to stealthy smoking blends.
Mullein has been smoked to improve lung health for centuries. I have no lung pain after smoking when I add mullein to the mix.
